There are a number of different types of lab-grown diamond testers available. Some of the most common types of testers include:
- Electrical conductivity testers: These testers measure the electrical conductivity of a diamond. Lab-grown diamonds have a slightly higher electrical conductivity than natural diamonds, so this can be used to distinguish between the two.
- Infrared absorption testers: These testers measure the infrared absorption spectrum of a diamond. Lab-grown diamonds have a slightly different infrared absorption spectrum than natural diamonds, so this can be used to distinguish between the two.
- Mohs scale testers: These testers measure the hardness of a diamond. Lab-grown diamonds have the same hardness as natural diamonds, so this cannot be used to distinguish between the two.
